The Master Plan
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) is creating a master plan for state parks in Umatilla and Union Counties. Master plans guide recreational use and resource management in the parks. Only one of the parks, Hat Rock State Park, has a previous master plan, completed in 1983 (this plan will be updated as part of the current master plan).
OPRD will assess natural, cultural, scenic, and recreational resources, as well as needs and opportunities related to resource protection and recreation development. Based on these assessments, resource management strategies and new or updated facilities may be proposed and implemented as funding becomes available following adoption of the plan.
You can get involved by attending public meetings, submitting comments, or just following along as we update this website to show current management and development proposals.
